As a growing, viable and successful organization, we are currently looking for a temporary part-time Web Designer to join our team.
You are a highly motivated, energetic self-starter who is committed to making a difference in everything you do. You have extensive experience in creating original designs/layouts and developing highly usable web prototypes using the latest web technologies. Your communication skills are second to none. You are driven to meet deadlines, and you flourish in a results-oriented environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Work closely with the User Experience Designer to create workable prototypes using XHTML, CSS and JSF/RichFaces from existing paper prototypes.
- Collaborate with the User Experience Designer by providing insight into the best possible rich solutions for an online application.
- 3+ years of Web Design experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience with the following: XHTML & CSS (hand-coded), AJAX, Richfaces, JSF, JavaScript, XML.
- Excellent design and visual composition skills with a strong understanding of colour and layout.
- Ability to understand end-users from a user-centered design perspective.
- Ability to rapidly iterate through design layouts and prototype.
- Familiarity with data visualization.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written English), organizational and analytical skills.
- Knowledge and passion for web trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of JavaScript.
- Some knowledge of Java programming would be a great advantage.
- Experience in web application development an asset.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
